Message-ID: <10264@polyslo.CalPoly.EDU> Date: 13 Apr 89 15:41:28 GMT Reply-To: rnicovic@polyslo.CalPoly.EDU (Ralph Nicovich) Distribution: usa Organization: Cal Poly State University -- San Luis Obispo Lines: 18 Recently I have seen an add in BYTE for a internal (IBM) modem with MNP level 5 software. It was for the unbelievable price of 99 dollars. I called the vendor who of course claims these are excellent modems. The Manufacturer is PC Works, but I assume they OEM them. We support MNP at Cal Poly and have had good success with it however the modems I buy are VENTEL's and cost about 400. Does anyone have experience with these PC Works modems ? If so, in what environment and do you know if they support the "break" function ? Ralph Nicovich Network Engineering Cal Poly State University, SLO
