The host machine is a Silicon Graphics 4D70GT. We are looking for a program to render the surfaces of several objects at once, given a set of non-uniformly distributed points on the boundaries of equally spaced slices through the objects. The data consist of the outlines of neurons traced automatically from serial electron micrographs. Many individual neurons may be traced in each frame, and their reconstructions from a series of frames must be treated as separate objects by the display program. The traced neuron contours can have arbitrary shape, and the reconstructed objects are of arbitrary complexity, i.e. they may be simple tubes or highly branched. We are already familiar with Alpha1 and Voxel/View. If anyone knows of any other packages, I would appreciate hearing about it.
