I have some elevation data on a square grid. I need to render 3-D views
of the elevation models, given a viewpoint and the location of a light
source. Is there any public domain ray tracer out there that can do
this job? I believe some special purpose ray tracers have been written
for this application -- they are called 'grid tracers'.
