Message-ID: <124@maytag.waterloo.edu> Date: 13 Apr 89 20:55:16 GMT Sender: daemon@maytag.waterloo.edu Reply-To: rjc@aries5 (Russ Chamberlain) Distribution: na Organization: Computer Systems Group, University of Waterloo Lines: 19 I have experienced problems with character alignment on the LaserWriter II at work. The discrepancy shows up best when an 80x25 block of white-on-black chars (an IBM PC screen dump of reverse-video chars) is printed. I get blank lines (one LaserWriter-pixel wide) appearing as ugly white streaks; both vertical and, more often, horizontal. I set about to fix the problem, since the printouts involved are destined for publication, and after intense sessions of swearing and hair-pulling, I heard a rumor that some or all PostScript interpreters have a numerical rounding error in them. I also heard that there is a relatively simple fix. Could someone please enlighten me?
