What is difference between IPADDRESS and IPGATEWAY (AppleTalk NBP types) as put out by a Kinetics box? Does the KStar and/or KIP software support both? Why I want to know is Claris is moving to a new building soon and I want to change how people access the Suns from Macs. Currently there are a bunch of model 3 boxes using the built in code and doing the subnetting trick. I would like to change it so one model 4 box hands out all the IP addresses dynamically using the KIP model. I have noticed that you can select a zone in the MacTCP driver and you can enter it in the config.tel file of NCSA Telnet, but when I try it with the KStar code, it never seems to find the KBox in the zone that is configured. I have noticed that KBox is only emitting IPADDRESS and nothing like IPGATEWAY. What am I doing wrong? I have tried reconfiguring the KStar code many different ways but I can't seem to get it to put out IPGATEWAY. It only works for me if the Mac is in the same network as the Kbox. -- Clay Maeckel * UUCP: {ames, apple, portal, sun, voder}!claris!clay (I know nothing!) * Internet: clay@claris.com * GEnie: C.MAECKEL Claris Corporation * AppleLink: Maeckel1 * CompuServe: 73057,255
