Texas, Astronomy, Austin, TX Lines: 25 Sorry to post this to both .amiga and .amiga.tech, but I figure there may be some hackers who read .tech and not the general net. I am in need of a 5 1/4 inch drive for my 1000, so I can read IBM formatted disks ( of data that we take at the telescope) into the Amiga for reduction. As Commodore no longer makes 1020 drives (why, Commodore, don't at least bridgecard people want them?) I need some kind of modification scheme. So, can someone please tell me either 1)where I can get a 1020, 2)how to modify an IBM drive to work, 3)how to modify a C-64 or 128 drive, or 4)how to modify some other drive (I have a CBM 4040 from my PET days which I would love to have available for this purpose.) I'm comfortable with doing the modifications myself, but I need some sort of schematic for the purpose. And I presume I will need a separate power supply or something. My configuration is AMI 1000, C.Ltd. Amega-board w/ 1Meg, one external 3.5 in. and soon to be one Toolbox and GVP Flash Card with 48MB Seagate drive. (I will report on this set-up when I get it all running.) Thanks alot for any help you can offer, Scot Kleinman Astronomy Dept. U Texas @ Austin sjk@astro.as.utexas.edu
