I've built a couple of these, making changes and trying to figure out how to get it to work well. I had a wave generator hooked up providing a clean stable sine wave, and a scope to poke around inside the bugger. I turns out that the noise is generated only when the Amiga is monitoring the device. My guess is that the ACK-type signals sent into the 0804 ADC are the source of the noise. Unfortunately, the equipment here is all Fred Flintstone Signature Series stuff (i.e. old). Add that to the fact that I'm a software kinda guy, and I'm lost. Anybody have better results? -- Jim Wright jwright@atanasoff.cs.iastate.edu
