In particular, I do not know where to set up all the subdirectories for all the news groups I want to read. For instance, where do the directories start? Is something like comp.sys.amiga.tech a subdirectory of comp.sys.amiga, or are both subdirectories of news (i.e. same level of indenture in the file system). 2) Can AmigaUUCP pass news? I think that the news must be re-batched to passed down, but how? Is just news that I have posted (using postnews) given out as news? If I am both, being fed news, and feeding it elsewhere, how is this managed? 3) How is old news deleted? Is there a utility, or should I write some sort of shell script (REXX or Execute) to do this? Computers are a hobby of mine, not a profession, so please be patient with me. Before you scream at me, "buy a book," I have bought the H. Sams/ Waite Group book on Unix Communications, and found the section on administration to be quite thin. It mostly goes over things from a user standpoint, not how to administrator (telling someone to go see their site administrator is safe, but a cop-out. I _am_ the site administrator for my Amiga ;'D). Please (!) E-mail me. I will attempt to E-mail those who also express the desire for such information, or will post a summary if sufficient interest is expressed. - Arved Arved@cup.portal.com sun!portal!cup.portal.com!Arved Creating my own site.
