After taking it apart I found that the power supply fuse had blown rather violently. I suspect that after about 3.5 years, the flyback transformer has given up. I would obviously like to replace the monitor but my situation is a little more difficult since I while I live in Europe, my old 1000 is a US version. This makes the purchase of another Commodore monitor inappropriate. I wish to purchase a multi-sync monitor since I have concluded that I can use it with my NTSC system or a PAL system if I purchase one later. The questions are: (1) is my conclusion correct (2) reccomendations for montors that can be bought in europe (3) places within driving distance of Brussels where I can purchase both monitor and cable at reasonable(for europe) prices. As always, thanks for any/all help. -- Jim Sanchez {sun, hplabs}!sun!sytek!syteke!jim OR Sytek Brussels mcvax!prlb2!sunbim!syteke!jim
