Apollo quoted us a list price of $11,000 for their version of the
Exabyte 8mm tape drive housed in an external shoebox, including
the controller and the Omniback software. The current list prices
quoted to us from Workstation Solutions and Danford were about
$7,000 and $8,000 respectively, including controllers. Apollo is
not yet shipping their drive ... we were told it would be available
in May, that it would require SR10, and that only Omniback could be
used with the drive (tar, wbak/rbak, rwmt will not work according
to our sales office).
