I have an Ace 1000 that I would love to upgrade. | Finding the processor shouldn't be any problem. I'd like to know what | else I would have to do to take full advantage of the new chip. You'll need some II+ software that can take advantage of the 65802. Such software is not common (COME ON NETLAND get BUSY!!) but you can write your own if you want... | Some time ago someone mentioned an article that explained how to put a | 65C02 into a II+. I had planned on looking into it then, but ran out of | time. I can't remember where or when this article was printed. Would I | follow the same procedure with the 65C802? Installing the 65802 to my knowledge does not create any hardware problems. In general, the 65802 is more compatible with the 6502 than the 65C02 is because the instruction timings are correct - the bug fixes no longer add cycles to the instruction time. If anyone wants to know how to put a 65C02 into a II+, I can send the references you need..
