I have a FSCK on my hard disk that I got from my local user group (SDACE) I don't know if it is the same one you got from SSYX.UCSC.EDU, but it came with a disk cleanup program that compresses the unused space fragments from a disk partition. It is important to run FSCK before you run the cleanup program (I forget the name) or the cleanup program may wipe out your disk. This FSCK doesn't do much, I think...it just looks for zero-length files. You may want to try your FSCK on a floppy that is write protected. _ _ Ms. Pat Coffey |_) (_ San Diego State University |
