I recently ordered a Miniscribe M3675 from HDI. I just got my Mastercard
bill and found that they billed me for the item immediately, even
though it is backordered. I find this rather perturbing, since they
mention membership in the Micro Marketing Council in their ads. As I
recall, billing people for unshipped merchandise is one of the abuses
that the MMC was specifically formed to combat.

This is a kind of a hassle since I have to exclude that amount from
my MC bill and write a note to MC explaining why so they don't charge
me interest.
