Davis - Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Lines: 23 I finally did it and bought a multiscan monitor and a VGA card! Now the fun begins: I have a Mini-Micro Supply Company 20MHz 386 with an on board enhanced EGA adapter. (When I bought the machine I new I would eventually go from monochrome to a VGA color system. The dealer explained that I could disable the on board EGA if I wished.) Now, the monitor (Packard Bell Uniscan) works fine with the EGA (even enhanced 640x480 x 16 color mode); but, when I try to disable the EGA card (one switch) and plug in the Everex EVGA card the computer DOES NOT BOOT! If I don't disable the EGA the machine beeps a few times and then hangs. I assume there is a compatibility problem between the EGA BIOS(?) that was not completely disabled and the EVGA BIOS, but I'm not positive. Anyone out there have any similar problems and solutions(?). I do have a call into Everex Tech. Support (is there a net address for them?) but I don't know how long it will take for them to solve the problem. I appreciate any help I can get. Thanks in advance -Jim Alves-Foss (foss@iris.ucdavis.edu = foss@128.120.57.20) proble
