I've solved the problem. The problem is caused by a program that a friend and I've been working on that clicks the speaker when my hard disk is accessed. I posted that source code a couple of weeks ago because I was having other problems with it. The only answer that I got was to pop the flags register. I can't put that into the code and recompile it because it only will compile om MASM 5.1 and I have TASM. If any of you have access to the article I posted with my source code or if you think you could tell me how to get the code to compile will you email suggestions to me? If I could make the code compile with TASM I could pop the flags register and see if this solved the problem. Thanks for all responses. -- Mike Lawler UUCP: !{iuvax,pur-ee}!bsu-cs!mdlawler ARPA: mdlawler@bsu-cs.bsu.edu
