Message-ID: <1112@unm-la.UUCP> Date: 10 Apr 89 19:18:49 GMT Organization: University of New Mexico - Los Alamos Lines: 32 Hi, I'm looking into running UNIX on my 30-286 and was wondering if anyone out there in netland is doing so at the moment? (If so, I would like to hear how it is performing if at all possible.) Would I need a 386 drop-in board or will the 286 work too? (I suppose the 386 has several advantages.) What type of hard disk would you suggest? (Size?) I would like to have a C compiler and also have room to set up a DOS partition -- Unfortunatley I've spent to much money to just throw away all the software I have for DOS.... 8(. Do they even make hard disks to fit into the 30-286 that would be able to support UNIX? How much memory would I need up needing to run comfortably? (I can expand to 14MB I believe.)
