I am working on a database query interface and don't want to reinvent the 
wheel so... I need a database query backend.  I want to pass this software
the query (in whatever format it desires) and give it a database and get
some useful information back (like the # of matches, and how to find the
records that match).  Right now the databases will be relatively small, but 
I'd like the software to be able to handle large databases with complex
queries.
