I put up X11R3 and the system runs out of memory if you fire up more than a couple of windows. It has the default 16 meg swap at the moment. I am planing on increasing it to around 32 meg or so. Has anybody played with "MAXUSERS" in the kernel? Would jacking this up affect performance? Any other variables you can tweak? I have cut the kernel down to the minimum size - 750k down from about a meg. -e -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Eric Pearce ARPANET eap@bu-it.bu.edu Boston University Information Technology CSNET eap%bu-it@bu-cs 111 Cummington Street JNET jnet%"ep@buenga" Boston MA 02215 UUCP !harvard!bu-cs!bu-it!eap 617-353-2780 voice 617-353-6260 fax BITNET ep@buenga
