ImageWriter II also, according to Apple "won't work"; mine does just fine, however, with a step-down transformer. For a Mac and an ImageWriter you'll need 250W or so. LaserWriters also aren't supposed to work like that, but I know one LW in Germany where I used to work that's been doing it merrily for over 3 years now...ignorance can be bliss, I guess. A ThunderScan takes power directly from the Mac, so it works just fine.
