We have experimented here at Northwestern with several types of servers, and found a Mac II with 2 Mb of memory quite able to handle around 30 simultaneous logins and spool 4 laser printers. With 1 Mb, you are limited to 25 simultaneous logins and things do get much slower. Mac Pluses and SE's as servers do not run fast enough in my opinion, except when less than ten workstations are accessing the server at any given time.
