How about this: in the next generation of Macintoshes, let's use a 3- dimensional screen, with the ability to move windows onto any three- dimensional plane. Then, when you want to move some of your windows out of the way, you can move them so that they are perfectly horizontal from the user's perspective. Doing this, they would appear as just one thin line (assuming that a window would have debth as well). Just think of how many of these windows you could have on the screen at one time (not to mention how hard it would be to click on one specific one to bring it back into view :-). I must say, I don't really care for applications that move windows around on their own (take MacWrite's spell checker for example), just as much as I don't like people trying to guess what I would like.
