The characters are always: ')z This string does not appear in my text(s). The DF call is on p. 5, say, the display prints fine on p. 6, and the mysterious characters appear on p.7, always top of column two (using .2C). Drop the display call, and the characters go away. The string probably has more characters, but they are spaces; thus the top lines will look so: may ')z write the first disk's directory ..............
