Summary: Windows 2.10 does boot and run write, clock, calc with NEC V20. Keywords: V20, 2.10, protected mode '286 instructions absent. I had obtained a NEC V20 ($8-10) to support a program I use which uses lots of non standard segment:offset addressing modes, and late one night I was monkeying around with SYMDEB. Just assembling one liners and tracing through them... NEC V20 supports push immediate enter leave push all pop all r, :-) ... Off the top of my head, I couldn't think of any '286 instructions for real mode in addition to these. So I brought Windows 2.10 home and brought it up. Checked out the Clock, Calc, and Write. Turned it off and went away... I suspect that other code, such as the '286 version of Logitech's Modula-2 compiler, would run on an XT with a V20 also. Would like to hear stories from others. -- Whatcha' call a boomerang that doesn't come back? --Lost-- -------------------------------------------------------------- 1-(512)-346-5781 (v) Using Modula-2.
