Hello out there !

I have a good friend in the German Democratic Republic who is interested in
the X-Tape (R3). My Question is now: Am I allowed to send him a copy of the
tape ? I know X Window System is public domain, but does that mean I am
allowed to send it to GDR ?

If anyone has any experience or information concerning this problem, please
