Many thanks to everyone who sent advice on how I could display a color
image, in this case a color bar, within a box widget.  My final
solution was to switch from a box widget to a viewport widget and to
have a Core widget within that viewport widget to hold the actual
image.  Once I get my code a little further along, I'll post it.
