Would it be possible to extend the response of emacs to a "kill -HUP" signal to include writing out a ".HUP-buffer-list" file to the users homedir? This would make it easier for the user to determine what files had been modified/backed up and to restore his state. I think just dumping the usual result from M-x list-buffers would suffice. Thanks.
