It scares me to see the whole world going for C++ when I tested >both and voted for Obj-C. (I am wandering whether my judgement was wrong.) It scares me too. I'm quite interested in both C++ and Objective-C (as well as several other less well-known languages). I find Objective-C presents some major advantages (to me) over C++ in all but the most speed-demanding of problems. I don't think C++ is a bad language, I just think it addresses a different set of problems than Objective-C (just as Objective-C addresses a different set of problems than Smalltalk, etc.). We can get into religious wars about which class of problems is more important, but I think that issue is really a matter of each individual's interest (or their company's interest :-) By the way, has there been a recent vote on a "comp.lang.oop" ?? If so, oh well. If not, how does one go about a 'call for votes' and then (if things turn out positive) how does one go about getting such a news group set up? >Joel Peing-Ling Loo Voice: 512-338-3680 _ _ Email: loo@mcc.com Brian R.
