I can't help you w/ the RS232 interface. Toshiba makes a 
CD w/ SCSI interface. XM-3200B/3201B comes w/ SCSI
interface board and software for IBM PC.

There's and audio jack on the front of the
CD drive so I assume you can get audio of the disk.
