	I'm looking for information about which values of the "type"
field in the ethernet packet header correspond to which higher-level
protocols.  For example, I have heard that types 800 and 806 are
commonly used by TCP/IP.

	I'd like to find a set of types which I can use for
some special-purpose protocols which will not interfere with
any other protocols used by other machines on the ethernet.

	Any information (or pointers to information) will be
appreciated.
