It seems to me that Kent is working on the theory that:

	"Locks are to keep honest people honest; no amount of security
	which we can afford will keep out anybody who truely wants to
	cause trouble anyway." 

If he's going to take this approach, he needs to plug anything which is
easy to get into , but he also has to be careful not to put in enough
security to make it "an interesting challenge" for someone who would
otherwise not bother.
