There is a package called "A Novel Approach" that sells for $49.95 that
does just what you are describing.  It is described as a "Book Writer's
Workbench and Journal of Thoughts."  This package runs on IBM PC's and
compatables.  A demo disk and manual costs $10, and may be applied toward
purchase of the complete program.
