There are a few "knobs" on the BACK of the 1084S that you can twiddle.
They vary the amount of the picture that is displayed (i.e) you can horizontally
and vertically center and shrink/expand the amount viewable.
I imagine your friend has his monitor set up slightly differently than yours.
