Newer Macintosh ROMs use privileged mode instructions, so I hear, so those wouldn't work properly. Apple has recently lauched a campaign to try to dry up the gray market sale of Macintosh ROMs. Apple is forcing dealers to take entire motherboards as parts stock rather than individual parts, so buy now while the buying is good.
