I have a 20 Meg ST-506 (3.5") drive and a 40 Meg SCSI (3.5") [8051S] drive. Data transfer from the ST-506 drive to the SCSI drive works fine. However, the other direction doesn't. If I try to transfer large amounts of data to the ST-506 drive, I get a visit to the Guru - guaranteed! This happens with both WorkBench and CLI copies. Needless to say, this is somewhat annoying. The SCSI drive is formatted FFS (except for a small OFS partition.) The ST-506 drive is formatted OFS. Is this a transfer rate problem? (I wouldn't expect Gurus, but what do I know?) If so, will setting the MaxTransfer parameter on the ST-506 drive fix it? What should it be set to? Thanks, -- Jim Pritchett UUCP: killer!gtmvax!dms3b1!caleb!jdp
