Prodos8 MLI Error $51 !!! Message-ID: <44780@tut.cis.ohio-state.edu> Date: 22 Apr 89 18:36:43 GMT Sender: news@tut.cis.ohio-state.edu Reply-To: Distribution: usa Organization: Ohio State University Computer and Information Science Lines: 22 Yesterday I was downloading (via kermit) a whole bunch of files to my //e with 10MG Sider hard drive, when I got a ProDos8 MLI Error $51- Directory Structure Damaged. Only the subdirectory I was loading into was damaged, and I want to know if I can fix it, and if so, how. Otherwise I will have to go to re-formatting it and reloading it using my backup floppies. This will be inconvenient because of all the time spent downloading. Another clue: I had recently UNdeleted some files in a different subdirectory, but I think it was still legal because I am pretty sure I hadn't written anything to that directory since DEleting them. Besides, that was an entirely different subdirectory. But it might help. Also, I don't think I had exceeded 51 files in that subdirectory, yet... So: 1) Can I perform surgery? 2) If so, how? 3) Could this be a hard drive problem? 4) If so, what can I do to see if it is? 5) Has anyone else had this problem with Siders? Thanks to anyone who answers with some possibilities. Jeff Stern
