CA is a generic name for all nets operating in CANADA. Systems using NetNorth(BITNET), CDNnet, UUCP, or EDU can all be registered with the CA RELAY (RELAY.CA) at the University of British Columbia. A list is being generated their to give the proper routing within CANADA As it happens the University of Calgary has both a UUCP and a CDN address while I'm not sure how UUCP operates but CDNnet uses DATAPAC lines within Canada When EAN the CDNnet operating system has to make a file transfer UBC the central routing site or other sites that arrangements have been made with the system operator is dialed and the transfer made. The transfer rates depend on the modem in use and can be up to 9600 baud . This is all done using X400 or X25 proticols and charges are bye time and bytes transferred. >Murph Sewall Vaporware? ---> [Gary Larson returns 1/1/90] >Prof. of Marketing Sewall@UConnVM.BITNET >Business School sewall%uconnvm.bitnet@mitvma.mit.edu [INTERNET] >U of Connecticut {psuvax1 or mcvax }!UCONNVM.BITNET!SEWALL [UUCP] > (203) 486-5246 [FAX] (203) 486-2489 [PHONE] 41 49N 72 15W [ICBM]
