Unlike the ComputerEyes board which takes 6 seconds to digitize one lousy image, the AST does it all in real time. In 320 black&white mode, it updates about 5 times a second! In color or 640 mode it does it about once a second. The only problems I have found with it is that it needs a lot of light to do color correctly, and the software for it crashes a lot when there is a surge from the video source. i.e. when there is a cut on the tape or when you cant get a clear signal from a TV station, I dunno why, but this causes the program to crash. -brian
