Keywords: Request for comments Message-ID: <5426@nucleus.UUCP> Date: 18 Apr 89 18:35:14 GMT References: <786@stag.UUCP> Organization: The Nucleus Public Access Unix, Clarkston, MI Lines: 16 While horizontal scrolling is a very good idea for terminals used in writing code (especially when compilers allow long lines of 512 characters or more) it would seem less useful when writing documentation or other text primarily oriented toward human readability especially when the output will be sent to a printer of some sort that probably will not support horizontal scrolling. Could there not be a configurable/toggled wrap margin so that word wrap could be enabled when useful and disabled when horizontal scrolling is the best way to go? Being able to set what column is the wrap margin (ala' vi) would also be very helpful. I'm looking forward to seeing FOLDED soon and will port it to a couple of HP 9000's (300 & 800) ASAP!
