Message-ID: <890423.17125251.059213@SFA.CP6> Date: 24 Apr 89 12:24:19 GMT Sender: daemon@ucbvax.BERKELEY.EDU Organization: The Internet Lines: 24 A letter was posted in which a user was having bombs with Falcon and was upset at the 'quality' of that Spectrum product. I have Falcon and am using it on my Mega. I have had no problem with getting to use it on my machine. I did have a problem in that part of my manual was slashed. I wrote Spectrum, mailing my old manual in. Within two weeks after my mailing, a letter of apology was written to me and a new manual was in the envelope. Regarding the bombs that the user mentioned, I've had none. However, assuming that the Falcon disk of his is not corrupted as a result of the disk duplication service that Spectrum contracts, it could be a problem of his machine. My Mega2 had a problem of erratic crashes on especially involved programs. My dealer analyzed the machine and said that I had two 'weak' ram drivers, whatever those are. He replaced the two chips and I haven't had any problem since. Regarding not being able to load Falcon onto a hard drive, I'll agree with any complaints in that regard. I hate it. Captain Blood and Dungeon Master are also equally guilty. I detest waiting minutes for a game to load when I have a hard drive with the space available to use. Don't know if this feedback is of any help or not... Larry Rymal
