ProComm 3.1 is a bogus version.  From the examination I made when I came 
across a copy about two years ago (as well as the file dates), it is probably
a hacked beta copy of ProComm 2.4.0.  There have also been rumors that 3.1
will wipe your hard disk on October 31st.

The latest version of ProComm (not Plus) is 2.4.3, which is a minor update
to 2.4.2 (some bugfixes, Ymodem-G, and change of address in the docs).
