Our lab has just bought a MacIIx/LaserWriterII combination; our primary computer, however, is a Unix box. We'd like to hang the LaserWriterII off the unix box, and set the mac up to send output to unix. I'm not a mac-hacker, so I'm hoping someone can give me an easy solution.. It's no problem from the unix end, so the real question is: Do drivers exist for the laserwriterII that will run over a serial line instead of the appletalk port? In other words, I'd like to be able to select a seral-LWII option on chooser instead of atalk-LWII with no loss of features. Please respond via mail; I'll summarize if there's enough interest. Thanks for any help, /Jamie UUCP: {rutgers,ames}!cit-vax!bek-owl!mazer ARPA: mazer@bek-owl.caltech.edu BITNET: jmazer@caltech.bitnet "Michael J. Fox has no Elvis in him."
