Claris is still >80% owned by Apple.  Any and all major policy (read MONEY)
decisions still have to be approved by the Apple board of directors.  This
will be true until Apple releases 50.001% of the stock to the world.  In
other words, they own us until we "go public".  So they don't have to sue
us.  They can just say "No", and that's the end of it.

Claris is contractually obligated not to release software for non-Apple
machines for some period of time.  I don't know if this means that we can't
start writing for other machines or not, but as far as I know, we aren't.
And that "period of time" probably coincides with "going public".

[personal opinion follows]  Claris will most likely start developing for
other platforms AFTER we go public.  Too much money is out there for us not
too, and (IMHO) we're too good not to be able to get some of it.  Obviously,
NeXT has a really high potential.  Therefore, it's in our best interest to
look into NeXT now, even if we can't do anything with it yet.

If we're developing for the NeXT now, I really wish someone would tell ME.

We'll probably call them "The NeXT version of MacWrite", "The NeXT version
of MacDraw", "The NeXT version of Claris CAD"..... ;-)
