Well, if you're like me (in a slightly different situation), it goes like this: 1) I buy DMCS at neighborhood computer store. 2) Take it home. Notice that it's COPY PROTECTED. Yuck! Bleech! Install it on my hard disk. 3) Copy on hard disk becomes corrupted (though I've found no errors on it). Now the original disk won't run and I can't install a copy on the hard disk anyway... 4) Send disks back to EA for replacement. 5) EA informs me that yes, they'll replace disk. Also there's a non-copy protected version for $7.50 more (or something). 6) Send EA check for $7.50. 7) Receive replacement disks in mail. Copy DMCS to hard disk. Double-click it. Get the "Unauthorized copy" alert. Put new program disk in floppy drive. Double-click DMCS there. Get the "Unauthorized copy" alert. Boot from new program disk. Double-click DMCS. STILL get the "Unauthorized copy" alert. I guess that my new copy of DMCS ISN'T copy-protected, at least in the sense that it works just as well no matter how many copies I make of it and no matter where I put them ... I think it takes a lot of nerve to send a non-function replacement disk to an irate customer. I wonder what they'll send me THIS time ... -- v v sssss|| joseph hall || 201-1D Hampton Lee Court v v s s || jnh@ece-csc.ncsu.edu (Internet) || Cary, NC 27511 v sss || joseph@ece007.ncsu.edu (Try this one first) -----------|| Standard disclaimers and all that . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
