      ETA Systems Inc., the supercomputer unit of Control Data, ceased
operations yesterday.  The ETA plant in St. Paul, Minn. was locked
yesterday and the 800 former employees were bussed to a theater to hear
the news.  About 3,100 jobs will be eliminated worldwide.
