This is what I heard. Two weeks ago, the 0.9 golden master OD was ready, but they had problems copying the disk so that all possible drives could read it. NeXT had decided to try to obtain a bunch of out-of-specification drives to test their disk on, in hopes that if their disk was readable on these drives, it would be readable on all drives. Only time will tell :-) The last I heard (yesterday), we at Berkeley should expect it "any day now".
