(Bad parameter transfer) We have discovered a problem in OS ver. 4.0 and 4.0.1 concerning the transfer of parameters to the printer-filter. When we transfered our printer-filter (called 'if' in /etc/printcap) from 3.5 to 4.0 or even 4.0.1, the filter didn't work because the transfered width-parameter (width of paper (chars)) is allways 0 (zero) even when lpr is called with option '-w80'. The problem also occures when 'of'(output filter) is used. The length-parameter and all other parameters (hostname, acct.file etc.) are transfered ok. The width-parameter, though, gives us grey hair...... (* Why didn't god teach the peoples of the world to speak DANISH? My English spelling stinks...... *) Kind regards Morten Tolboel Institute of electronic systems University of Aalborg Denmark (not a suburb of Sweden!)
