There has been speculation by some department members that the system can exceed the below requirements. I, personally, have had limited experience with the Sun line and no experience with their SPARC line. I would appreciate any and all comments on the below questions. I will even summarize to the net if the interest is there. Is anyone using a Sun 4/280 for anything but a workstation? In particular what is the maximum number of active (not just sitting at the terminal) users can the system take with decent response times.
