An Amdahl 5990-1400 with four engines, each ~60 VUPS (yes, its rubber ruler time again - insert usual disclaimers) running SysV native is handling this load for a number of our customers. Some of them are banging on us to expand the 1024 device limit so they can add more users/more disk (1.8 terabytes isn't enough). I apologize for the blatant commercialism, but I couldn't stand seeing all these little UNIX engines being called big anymore... -- UUCP: littauer@amdahl.amdahl.com or: {sun, decwrl, hplabs, pyramid, ames, uunet}!amdahl!littauer DDD: (408) 737-5056 USPS: Amdahl Corp.
