	I am currently trying to install X11.3 on a VaxStation 2000 with
a 4-bit plane color screen and running Ultrix 2.0.  I have seen (and
corrected) the following problems:

	o undefined symbol in <sys/utsname.h>

	o server/ddx/dec/qdss/NPLANESFILE contains '4', *not* '8'.

	o clients/xdm/Login.c expression for macro expansion of
	  FAIL_Y has been simplified.

I now have successfully performed 'make World' and 'make install'.  However,
when xinit is started, the screen clears, the cursor rotates a few times
through the screen vertically (one line at a time), and then the system
hangs.  I did come across the following in server/ddx/dec/qdss/Xqdss.man:

	o DMA_BUFSIZ in /sys/data/qd_data.c *must* be 10 (it is currently
	  3072).

I have the following questions for anyone who has had experience installing
X11.3 with my configuration:

	o Does the kernel *absolutely* have to be rebuilt with DMA_BUFSIZ
	  equal to 10?

	o If so, is there anything else which has to be changed to get
	  X11.3 running?

	o Can someone who has done this installation post or E-mail me a
	  script of the procedure they followed (with attendant problems
	  and resolutions)?
