Message-ID: Date: 22 Apr 89 05:23:05 GMT Sender: jv@mhres.mh.nl Distribution: gnu Organization: Multihouse Gouda, the Netherlands Lines: 18 Background: GNU emacs 18.53 on HP9000/320 running HP-UX 6.2 (a SystemV system with a lot of BSD thrown in). It seems to be impossible to run "/bin/su" in an inferior shell. It immediately exits with a "Sorry"-message. Apparently it cannot grab its tty input. When I start the shell-layers manager "shl", I can run "/bin/su" in one of its sub-shells. Even if "shl" is run from the inferior emacs shell. Can anyone shed some light on this?
